Choosing Pallets to Flip for Profit
Choose pallets to flip by estimating what you can realistically sell and what it will cost to do so. No brand, retailer source or product category guarantees a profit.
Focus on Demand You Understand
Use your own sales history and completed comparable sales to identify products your customers buy. Factor in seasonality, model age and condition. Popular new products do not necessarily have the same demand as incomplete returns.
Set a Maximum Purchase Budget
Estimate realistic revenue, subtract transport, processing and selling expenses, then allow room for your target return and uncertainty. The resulting figure is a buying limit, not a guarantee that the lot will achieve it.
Stress-Test the Estimate
Ask what happens if fewer units work, sale prices are lower or sales take longer than expected. If a modest change makes the purchase unviable, the margin may be too fragile for your business.
Match the Work to Your Skills
Tools and electronics can need testing or repairs. Clothing may need cleaning and detailed sorting. Mixed stock requires several sales outlets. Choose the processing work you can actually perform.
Use Results to Improve the Next Order
Record sellable yield, realised prices and total expenses. Repeat purchases should be informed by those results rather than a successful sale of one standout item.
